Jaguars vs. Bills game recap: Buffalo pounds Jacksonville, 34-18
The Bills didn’t have any trouble dispatching the Jaguars in Buffalo on Sunday
Ryan Fitzpatrick had two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown, and Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller combined for 186 yards and a score as the Bills cruised to their fifth win of the year.
The Jags sparred with the Bills in the first half -- the score was only 17-10 in Buffalo's favor at the break -- but 17 unanswered points in the third and fourth quarters made the score lopsided. Chad Henne found Cecil Shorts III for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but the game was already on ice when Spiller found the end zone on a 44-yard run on the previous possession.
The Jaguars offense has been suddenly potent over the last two weeks, nearly knocking off Houston two weeks ago and besting Tennessee last week. The Bills defense, however, plugged the Jags’ run game, holding them to only fifty yards, and kept Henne to only 236 yards passing.
Fantasy Studs: The Bills’ runners. Spiller had a frustrating day for three quarters, but snapped off a 44-yard touchdown run that redeemed his fantasy value, and Jackson ran for 109 yards. Shorts had seven catches for 77 yards and a touchdown before he had to leave the game with a head injury.
Fantasy Duds: Any Jaguars running back. Montell Owens and Rashad Jennings combined for just 49 yards.
Did they Cover?: The Bills were six point favorites, and covered easily.
