Mario Manningham injury: 49ers wide receiver leaves game knee injury

Mario Manningham suffers an apparent leg injury on a reception and has to be helped off the field Sunday night.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham injured his left knee early in the third quarter of the 49ers' Sunday night matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. He is officially out for the remainder of the game.

Manningham caught a ball from quarterback Colin Kaepernick out in the flat and was hit immediately by a group of Seahawks defenders. His knee appeared to twist on the hit (WARNING: that link is gruesome) and he fumbled the ball. The Seahawks recovered Manningham's fumble while he was on the ground.

Manningham was unable to leave the field under his own strength and needed to be helped to the sideline after spending an entire commercial break on the field after the play.

Manningham's reception from Kaepernick was his only reception on the night before he left, though the veteran wide receiver has been targeted four times on the night. He was questionable coming into Sunday night's game while continuing to battle injuries.
