Redskins vs. Eagles, Week 16: ‘The Eagles put up a good fight’

The Washington Redskins have won six straight after a 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. They’ll need one more win against the Dallas Cowboys to clinch a division title.

Robert Griffin III was fine in his return to play, as the Washington Redskins won their sixth straight game Sunday, knocking off the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-20, to take a lead in the NFC East with only one week left to play.

Griffin threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns, while Alfred Morris had 91 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Eagles made it close thanks to the best passing game of Nick Foles' young career, but it wouldn't be enough as Washington's 27-13 lead proved to be insurmountable. The Redskins were actually outgained, 411-313, but won the turnover battle two to one and sacked Foles five times. For Kevin Ewoldt of Redskins blog Hogs Haven, there were some concerns, but more positives to focus on before another huge game next Sunday.

The Eagles put up a good fight. Is anyone else worried about the defensive tackling? The lack of pass rush was again a problem as Nick Foles had all day. Romo and Dez will surely put up more points. There's time to discuss that later in the week. Let's instead enjoy the Redskins' 6th consecutive win with the Giants still having to face a tough Ravens teams.

A seventh consecutive win next week against the Dallas Cowboys would seal an NFC East championship and a postseason berth for the Redskins. It would be their first playoff appearance since 2007.
