Jets vs. Jaguars results: Sanchez leads New York to 17-10 win in Jacksonville

Last week’s hero, Greg McElroy, was inactive, but the Jets still found a way to win for the second week in a row

So what exactly is the Jets’ record this year in weeks that they have a three-way quarterback controversy?

On Sunday, in the middle of the ever-present drama between Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow and Greg McElroy, things settled down just long enough for Sanchez to guide Gang Green to a 17-10 win over the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

Curiously, McElroy - the guy who led the Jets to a win last week - was inactive while Tebow was active, but Sanchez and company got the better of the Jags in a punt-filled game.

Thanks to a solid run game - Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell combined for 155 yards and two touchdowns on the ground - and a late defensive stand where Ellis Lankster picked off Chad Henne on the Jets' 28-yard line, the circus that is the New York Jets won back-to-back games for the first time all year.

With the two wins in the last two weeks, the Jets could sneak their way into the playoffs if their winning streak continues - and they have winnable games ahead against the Titans, Chargers and Bills.

Stat of the game: The stat of any Jets’ day naturally has to be what the quarterback du jour did - and Mark Sanchez completed only 12 of 19 passes for 111 yards and lost a fumble.

Fantasy studs/duds: The Jets running backs had a nice day, splitting carries but ending up with similar fantasy totals. Bilal Powell had 78 yards and a touchdown and Shonn Greene added 77 yards and a score. Jags' backup running back Montell Owens stepped in and had a nice day, with 91 yards and a score.

The duds on both sides were the wide receivers - Justin Blackmon, who had 57 yards, was the leading receiver for either side.

Did they cover?: The Jets were 2.5 point favorites and therefore covered the spread. But I do hope you aren’t actually betting on the Jets and the Jaguars.

Injury info: Jets defensive back Antonio Cromartie was taken to the locker room with a head injury but returned to the game, and wide receiver Stephen Hill suffered an apparent knee injury.

Next team on the schedule: The Jets travel to Tennessee to play on Monday Night Football, while the Jaguars will take a trip down the road to face the Dolphins.
