Brandon Marshall Accused Of Punching Woman In Face, According To Report

A day after being traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been accused of punching a woman in the face outside of a New York club, according to an ESPN report. The incident allegedly occurred at 3:50 a.m. Monday morning after Marshall allegedly got into a fight with a group of the woman's friends. Police are currently investigating the accusation and Marshall has not yet been charged with any crime.

“Both the Bears and Dolphins were aware of what occurred over the weekend. We decided to move forward with the trade. We have high expectations for Brandon as a Bear,” Bears general manager Phil Emery said in a statement.

Marshall’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, asserts that while there was a fight that night, his client was not involved. Steinberg also said that as Marshall and his wife were leaving the club, Marshall’s wife was hit in the face with a bottle and suffered “serious” injuries that required a trip to the hospital.

The woman who accused Marshall of punching her apparently suffered a black eye. From her accounting of the incident, it’s not clear if Marshall meant to punch her or one of her male friends, with whom Marshall was allegedly fighting.
