Brian Urlacher Expected To Miss Rest Of Bears OTAs

The Chicago Bears, along with most other teams in the NFL, began organized team activities this week. One of the players present, but not participating in the OTAs, was linebacker Brian Urlacher, who suffered a knee injury in the final game of last season.

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports that Urlacher is still rehabbing the knee and declining to participate in OTAs, instead focusing on getting back to 100 percent.

“It’s getting better,” Urlacher said. “I’m on schedule, so I feel good. At this stage, I know the defense pretty well. I’m not worried about being out there and not knowing what I’m doing.”

When asked about when he feels he’ll be taking full practices, Urlacher had this to say:

“Definitely training camp, I think,” he said. “The OTAs are not as important.”

Some of the second-string linebackers will get in more reps with Urlacher sitting out until training camp.
