Ed Reed Doesn’t Plan To Hold Out From Ravens Training Camp, According To Report

Ed Reed is seeking an extension with the Baltimore Ravens as he enters the final year of his six-year contract. While the veteran safety has been disgruntled with the organization this offseason, he has apparently told family members that he won't be holding out from the team during the regular season.

“Everyone is talking about a holdout,” the relative said. “Ed isn’t going to hold out. He told me he isn’t going to hold out. He speaks his mind about some things, gets some things off his chest, but he’s never said he is going to hold out. He’ll show up when he has to be there and he’ll play out his contract.”

Reed will turn 34 in September and has hinted at retirement over the last two seasons. He continues to play at an All-Pro level, though the Ravens are naturally wary about signing him to a multi-year deal, as Reed has struggled with injuries, notably in his neck and shoulder, in recent years.
