Mike Jenkins Will Report To Cowboys Training Camp, According To Report

Mike Jenkins will report to the start of Dallas Cowboys training camp, according to reports. Jenkins sat out voluntary workouts in protest of the lack of progress on a new contract. According to sources, the fifth-year cornerback won't take the penalties that come with sitting out mandatory workouts.

Jenkins is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and has yet to be medically cleared for practice. He played through neck and leg injuries on his way to an interception and 10 pass breakups last season.

Jenkins faces more competition this year for playing time. The Cowboys signed Brandon Carr and selected Morris Claiborne out of LSU with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Jenkins was placed on the trading block this offseason, but the organization didn't receive any offers it liked. Now owner and general manager Jerry Jones says Jenkins is part of the team's long-term plans.
