Greg Jennings Likely To Miss Preseason Week 2

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is still dealing with the lingering effects of his concussion, and will almost certainly miss the Packers’ second preseason game of the year Thursday night against the Browns. Jennings suffered the concussion in a scrimmage on Aug. 3, and hasn’t practiced or played since that date.

In 2011, Jennings caught 67 balls for 949 yards and nine touchdowns. Candidates to replace him in the starting lineup include veteran James Jones and Randall Cobb, who has electrified onlookers in training camp so far this year. Across the field will be Jordy Nelson, who may have replaced Jennings as Green Bay’s top receiver.

Jennings has been relatively healthy throughout his career, never missing more than three games in any season and playing a full 16 games in three of his six seasons in the NFL. In 2011, he missed the final three games of the season with a knee sprain before returning for Green Bay’s playoff loss to the New York Giants.
