Seattle Seahawks’ Braylon Edwards Is Fully Recovered, ‘Consistently Making Explosive Plays’ In Practice

Could Seattle finally be the place where Braylon Edwards fulfills all his potential? Coming off knee surgery during the offseason and battling for a roster spot, the 29-year-old veteran had a good start with a 39-yard touchdown catch against Tennessee in the Seahawks' preseason opener. And Eric D. Williams of the News Tribune says Edwards is making the most of his practice snaps.

With 13 (yes, 13) wide receivers on the roster right now, Seattle has a lot of decisions to make at the position. Right now, Edwards is listed on the depth chart as a third option behind starters, Golden Tate and Ben Obomanu. The former Michigan Wolverine also has to compete with fresh-as-a-daisy, 38-year-old Terrell Owens as well as Sidney Rice and second-year pros Ricardo Lockette and Kris Durham.

Edwards said he’s trying to make every snap count.

“It definitely drives me,” Edwards said. “We definitely have some guys that are notable, as well as guys that are out here working hard and making plays. So you definitely want to be at the top of your game every practice because you don’t get many opportunities. So when you get them, you’ve got to make them count.”

Seattle's next preseason game is agains the Denver Broncos. Another strong showing and continued strong practices, and Edwards could finally have a place to call home and flourish.
