Redskins Sign DT Marlon Favorite
Favorite (6-foot-1, 317 pounds) was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of LSU by the Carolina Panthers in 2009. After the Panthers released him, Favorite spent time on the practice squads for a number NFL teams, including two stints with the St. Louis Rams. Favorite played in 40 games during his three-year career at LSU, making 17 starts.
In addition to signing Favorite, the Redskins placed defensive tackle Chris Neild and wide receiver Darius Hanks on injured reserve on Thursday. Neild, who is in his second season as the Redskins' backup nose tackle, tore the ACL in his left knee on Monday. Hanks was ruled out with shoulder and clavicle injuries last week. He was signed by Washington in 2012 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Alabama.
