Cordy Glenn Named Bills Starting LT

The Bills have put the job of protecting Ryan Fitzpatrick's blind side in the hands of a rookie, as Cordy Glenn will start for the squad at left tackle.

Glenn was the fourth offensive lineman off the board in April's NFL Draft, selected by Buffalo 41st overall. The news isn't altogether surprising: Although Glenn was given nominal competition for the position by 2011 fourth-round pick Chris Hairston, the Georgia product was the favorite for the spot.

Glenn took the majority of snaps with the first team while Hairston took a smattering of reps at left tackle when likely starting right tackle Erik Pears sat out with a groin injury. Hairston will continue to fill in while Pears recovers.

While much of Glenn’s playing time in college actually came as an offensive guard, not offensive tackle, the Bills never considered playing him inside.
