Beanie Wells Will Play In Cardinals-Titans Game

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells will make his preseason debut against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field on Thursday, according to Cardinals head coach Ken Wisenhunt.

“I’m excited to see him in a game,” Whisenhunt said. “There’s no concern with him at all with his health.”

Right-knee injuries plagued Wells for most of the Cardinals’ 2011 campaign, prompting him to undergo arthroscopic surgery in January. He returned to practice on Aug. 7, 2012, after being removed from the physically unable to perform list. Barring any unexpected setbacks, Wells is expected to win the starting running back job over second-year player Ryan Williams, who is coming off a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee.

Wells was the Cardinals’ leading rusher in 2011, rushing for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns on 245 carries.
