Giants pass-rushing phenom Jason Pierre-Paul was ruled out of New York's third preseason game against the Bears on Friday. Pierre-Paul was not at Giants' practice on Wednesday and head coach Tom Coughlin told the media afterwards that he was experiencing back spasms. While the third preseason game is often considered a "dress rehearsal," the Giants plan to be extra-cautious with one of their most valuable defensive players (via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News):

The Giants have been marred by back issues this preseason, with many linemen on both sides of the ball blaming small and uncomfortable beds at their training camp dorms.
Pierre-Paul, a speed rusher from South Florida, led the team with 16.5 sacks last season.
