Jermichael Finley was in Ohio preparing for the Green Bay Packers' upcoming preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the birth of the standout tight end's new baby will keep him from playing this week.
Jermichael Finley Won’t Play In Packers Preseason Game Due To His New Baby
Finley had dealt with a concussion earlier in the preseason, but was fully healthy heading into this week’s preseason action. The tight end announced on his Twitter account that he’s decided to be at home with his family, though, instead of getting preseason snaps.
Sorry Fans 88 is Heading back to GB from Cinny to take care of my Family.

It definitely makes sense that Finley has chosen to head home to be with his family -- he tweeted earlier Thursday morning about the baby’s arrival. In the meantime, it sounds like Tom Crabtree will get the starting nod in his place as D.J. Williams has been dealing with a recent ankle injury.
