Hunter struggled in the Jets' 26-3 loss to the Giants on Aug. 18 -- he allowed four sacks in the first half alone.
Hunter is entering his ninth season in the NFL and his fifth with the Jets. He started all 16 games in 2011, which was his first season as a regular starter. Over the course of his career, he has appeared in 63 games and made 21 starts.
The Jets return to the field Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
