Troup missed the majority of the 2011 season due to a small fracture and disk problem in his back. After undergoing spinal fusion surgery late last year, he had problems practicing and admitted that he has been in significant pain since the procedure.
With 2012 out of the picture, Troup can focus on getting healthy over the course of the year in an attempt to return to the field for the 2013 season for the fourth and final year of his rookie contract.
