The Bears and Packers will meet again during the regular season in Week 15 at Soldier Field.

That leaves a hole in Chicago’s secondary, but it also leaves the Bears lacking on special teams. The Pro Bowl corner was a key blocker on the Bears’ punt-return team, matching up with the opposing gunner.
Tillman is entering his 10th year in the league, all of which were played with Chicago. He picked up three interceptions and 12 passes defended in the 2011 season.

What a Thursday night opener. This is one of the best games of the year with two teams that have plans to make a deep playoff run. The Packers lost last week and I can’t imagine them going 0-2 on the season. Aaron Rodgers is too good, with or without Greg Jennings.

Getty ImagesAfter opening as 4-point favorites, the point spreads have swelled in the Packers’ favor and are now at 6 points on most sites, even 7 on others. Although, considering the gap in the quality of each team’s first opponent, it’s not especially surprising that the Bears are considered underdogs for Thursday’s game.

Aug 23, 2012; Cincinnati, OH, USA; Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Taylor Mays (26) attempts to bring down Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings (85) during the first half at Paul Brown Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE As Schefter notes, Jennings is a tough player, but it’s too early in the season to potentially risk his health:
The injury doesn’t sound especially serious, but with the Packers having only a few days between last Sunday’s game against San Francisco and Thursday’s game against Chicago, it appears that they’re erring on the side of caution with one of their key playmakers. Last week, Jennings caught five passes for 34 yards against the 49ers.

Getty ImagesGreen Bay opened as 4-point favorites, but were quickly bet up to -7 at one shop (and it sits around -6 at most sportsbooks tracked by OddsShark.com). But as tempting as the point spread may be (and historically the Packers cover it against the Bears as their 7-2 ATS mark indicates), it’s the total that has attracted the most handicapping interest.
“Eight of the last nine meetings have played UNDER the total and the only exception was the Christmas Day game in 2011,” said Jack Randall, whose site provides the NFL odds to SBNation. “Still, a lot of the early totals wagering is on the OVER, according to our consensus data.”
