Eagles Vs. Cardinals Game Recap: Kevin Kolb Leads Cardinals Past Eagles, 27-6

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-6, on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Arizona Cardinals built a 24-0 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles by halftime and would not need any more points to get the victory. The Cardinals did add a field goal in the fourth quarter. The Eagles did not find the scoreboard until the third quarter when they kicked a pair of field goals. Malcom Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald caught touchdown passes from Kevin Kolb in the first half for the Cardinals. Arizona also got a defensive touchdown when Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was sacked and fumbled. The fumble was returned 93 yards for the score by Cardinals safety James Sanders.

Fantasy studs/duds: Arizona quarterback and former Eagles signal-caller Kevin Kolb was efficient in carving up the Eagles’ defense. Kolb was 17-of-24 passing for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns. Larry Fitzgerald was Kolb’s primary target with 9 receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown. Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was only 17-of-37 passing for 217 yards. He also had 28 rush yards. Although Vick avoided throwing any interceptions, he lost two fumbles.

Odds/Gambling: This game was an upset as the Eagles were favored by 3.5 points. The Eagles fell behind by 10 points after the first quarter and were never in the game after 14 more points in the second quarter by the Cardinals.

Injury info: Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan left the game with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Next week, the Cardinals will host the Miami Dolphins while the Eagles will host the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
