NFL Odds Week 1: Rams Vs. Lions

The Lions are currently 9-point favorites for their Week 1 game against the Rams.

Fresh off a 10-6 season and a trip to the playoffs, the Detroit Lions will begin their 2012 season at home when they host the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

The Rams were just 2-14 a season ago and Sunday’s game will be their first under new head coach Jeff Fisher. Detroit is expected to have one of the NFL’s top offenses once again and the Lions are currently 9-point favorites against the Rams, according to OddsShark.com.

Neither team closed last season strong against the spread with Detroit going 1-6 over its final seven games against the spread while St. Louis went 1-5-1. The teams are 3-3 over their last six head-to-head matches and are also 3-3 against the spread during that stretch.

The over/under for Sunday’s game is currently set at 46.5. During the regular season last year, Detroit went over in 10 of 16 games while St. Louis went over in just five of 16 games.
