The New York Jets begin their new and uncertain era when they take on the Buffalo Bills on the opening Sunday of the 2012 NFL regular season. That uncertainty appears to be influencing the overall line. After the Jets opened as six point favorites over the Bills, the line has fallen to three points in some sportsbooks and even as low as one.

Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, and the New York Jets are only very slight favorites over the Buffalo Bills this weekend.
People seem to be sold on Buffalo's defense thanks to the offseason acquisition of Mario Williams. With Williams, Buffali should be stronger than it's ever been along the defensive line and make it difficult for teams to run on them. The Jets meanwhile have to worry about how effective their Wildcat offense will be with Tim Tebow, and how it can incorporate with the regular offense led by Mark Sanchez. New York's offense looked like a mess in the preseason, and while Buffalo was hardly impressive, their defense figures to be their identity this season.
