Bengals vs. Texans 2013, NFL Playoffs: Texans 2-step to the next round

SB Nation Texans site Battle Red Blog praised the Houston defense:

Houston advances to the divisional round in New England next weekend.

All game long the Bengals’ offense struggled to find rhythm, and though the team had a chance to take the lead late, it just wasn’t good enough to pull off an upset win, according to the SB Nation blog Cincy Jungle.

Cincinnati’s lack of offense forced its defense to hang on for dear life, and in the end, the Bengals were just asking for too much.

Big time, people. Big time.

Hey Houston and Cincinnati, NFL fans are watching and waiting. And waiting, and waiting. Just for anything to happen.

Let’s hope that by the second half, they will wake up and so will the fans.

Jay Gruden’s name has once again emerged as a head coaching candidate.

Maybe greener pastures were on his mind in the first half of Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Texans, because his unit was playing poorly, with not even 50 total yards of offense at the two-minute warning.

Schaub has otherwise been accurate and is 11-of-13, but those attempts have gained only 65 yards. The Bengals’ defense was ranked seventh in the NFL against the pass this season and had 14 interceptions. Hall had two interceptions on the year and returned one of those for a touchdown. Schaub threw only 12 interceptions but has just thrown a very costly one early.

Now the Bengals just need to figure out what to do with Dalton.
