Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, speaking at Tuesday's Super Bowl Media Day, did not waver in his support of linebacker Ray Lewis, who was implicated earlier in the day in a Sports Illustrated report that said he used a banned deer-antler velvet extract pill to recover from an injury earlier this season.

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh strongly defended his veteran linebacker to reporters on Tuesday when asked about a Sports Illustrated report involving possible PEDs.

“What I do know about that is Ray has worked incredibly and extremely hard to get back,” Harbaugh told reporters on Tuesday. “So I hate to see anything diminish ... the work ethic that he’s put in to get to where he is now.”
As Lewis said during his time in front of the microphone on Tuesday, Harbaugh quickly referenced the random drug tests that Lewis and all NFL players are subject to, all of which the 17-year veteran has passed.
“My understanding is that Ray has passed every random substance test that he’s taken throughout the course of his whole career,” Harbaugh said. “So there’s never been a test that’s shown up anything along those lines.”
Lewis, who tore his triceps on Oct. 14, later more vehemently denied the Sports Illustrated report to Comcast SportsNet New England’s Tom Curran.
