Ray Lewis: Deer antler rumors are ‘the trick of the devil’

Responding to allegations that he took a banned substance in 2012, Ray Lewis says that the Sports Illustrated report is “the trick of the devil”.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that deer antlers can help professional athletes. Or maybe it was convincing Sports Illustrated to publish PED allegations about Ray Lewis just a few days before the Super Bowl. Who can say!

Well, Ray Lewis can. After Tuesday brought news of a wonderfully insane scandal involving deer antler pills and the Ravens superstar, he responded.

From Pro Football Talk:

“That’s the trick of the devil,” Lewis said when asked about allegations that he used a banned performance-enhancing substance during his recovery from a torn triceps. “The trick of the devil is to kill, steal and destroy. That’s what he comes to do. He comes to distract you from everything you’re trying to do.”

From there Lewis began talking about the difference between “success” and “impact” in this world, and concluded, “You talk about the walk of Jesus, his whole walk was impact. So that’s what my life is based on.”

You have to admit, he makes a pretty convincing argument.

Maybe you’re tired of all this rhetoric from Ray Lewis, but if that’s the case, maybe you need to look within yourself. The poison on the inside is poisoning your outside.

On the seventh day God rested, but until then He worked.

For us, not for Himself.

What if God was one of us?

Just a slob like one of us?

Think about that.

Open your mind and maybe you’ll be able to open your heart.

Deer antlers.
