Eagles coaching rumors: Bruce Arians, Gus Bradley get permission to interview

In search of a new head coach, the Eagles have been granted permission to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley and Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

The Philadelphia Eagles are conducting a formal search to fill their head coaching vacancy and have been granted permission to interview two coordinators of playoff teams, via Eagles Insider. The two are defensive coordinator Gus Bradley of the Seattle Seahawks and offensive coordinator Bruce Arians of the Indianapolis Colts.

Since Bradley and Arians are currently working for teams in the playoffs, the Eagles cannot interview either coordinator at this time. If the Seahawks or the Colts happen to win their respective playoff game this weekend, though, the Eagles brass can interview the candidate sometime during the following week, via Eagles Insider.

Bradley is in charge of one of the most intimidating defensive units in the NFL as the Seahawks defense ranked first in points allowed this year. Bruce Arians, meanwhile, served as the Colts’ head coach during Chuck Pagano’s absence.

Philadelphia is in search for a new head coach after parting ways with former head coach Andy Reid, who served in the position for 14 years. The Eagles made the playoffs in nine of those 14 seasons, including one trip to the Super Bowl, but fired Reid after a disappointing 4-12 season in 2012.
