Eagles vs. Buccaneers 2013 final score: Nick Foles sensational in 31-20 win

There’s no quarterback controversy in Philadelphia, at least not yet.

A game between Nick Foles and Mike Glennon didn't seem exciting on paper, but the two quarterbacks both played very well as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-20, on Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles have said publicly that there’s no quarterback controversy, but Foles’ play may have something to say about that. He’s the young quarterback in this scenario, with a lot more tread on his tires than Michael Vick. Foles has shown an ability to run Chip Kelly’s offense, throwing for three touchdowns and running in a third. More importantly, he did both without a turnover.

Foles' best throw of the day came in the third quarter when he found Riley Cooper on a 47-yard touchdown pass.

Tampa Bay is now 0-5, but there were some key takeaways from Sunday's game. Mike Glennon was worlds better than his first NFL start, as the rookie quarterbacks threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns. He was also able to get the ball to Vincent Jackson, something he was unable to do in his first start, for 98 yards and two scores.

Pass rush continues to plague both teams with the defenses totaling just two sacks against fairly immobile quarterbacks.

Fantasy studs and duds

Nick Foles was fantastic, if you somehow had the foresight to start him this week. Three touchdowns through the air and one on the ground.

Doug Martin continues to let his owners down, as the Buccaneers' running back managed just 62 yards on the game.

Vincent Jackson is finding his stride, and could be a No. 1 fantasy wide receiver if Mike Glennon is in step with him.

Did they cover?

The Eagles were 2.5-point favorites, according to OddsShark. Their 11-point win means they covered the spread.
