Randall Cobb placed on Injured Reserve – Designated for Return

The Packers will be without wide receiver/kick returner Randall Cobb for a while.

The Packers will be without wide receiver Randall Cobb for several weeks after he suffered a broken leg in Green Bay's win over the Ravens in Week 6. The Packers announced on Tuesday that Cobb was put on injured reserve but is designated to return. He will miss six to eight weeks while recovering from a fractured fibula.

Cobb has started four games for the Packers this season and has collected 29 catches for 378 yards and two touchdowns. He is also a threat in the return game with three special teams touchdowns in his three-year career. The Packers also have Jordy Nelson and James Jones at wide receiver.

Tight end Jermichael Finley is expected to see an increased role in the Packers offense with Cobb out of the lineup, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Finley has caught 20 passes this season for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers likes to spread the ball, so another playmaker could also emerge over the next few weeks.

The Packers will host the Browns at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
