Justin Blackmon is listed as questionable on the Jacksonville Jaguars injury report, but the wideout said that there's "no question" he will play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, according to Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union. Blackmon sat out practice Friday due to nagging hamstring and groin injuries after being limited Thursday.
Justin Blackmon injury: Jaguars WR expects to play despite ‘questionable’ tag
Justin Blackmon says he will play Sunday against the Chargers, despite missing practice Friday.
Blackmon's presence will be greatly appreciated. He has returned from a four-game suspension to give the Jaguars a much-needed offensive spark the last two weeks, catching 19 passes for 326 yards and a touchdown. With Cecil Shorts III also listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury and rookie Ace Sanders likely out with a concussion, Blackmon may be asked to carry the passing game as Chad Henne's only proven wideout.
The Jaguars scored a moral victory last week by losing to the Denver Broncos by only 16 points. Blackmon was perhaps to biggest reason for the Jags' non-awful performance. The Jaguars will have a better chance of scoring their first win of the season against the Chargers in Week 7, though they will have to prove they can keep up with a rejuvenated Philip Rivers. Blackmon may give them that chance.
