Rams considering signing Tim Tebow

The St. Louis Rams could be looking at quarterback help following Sam Bradford’s injury Sunday.

The St. Louis Rams might explore the idea of signing free agent quarterback Tim Tebow, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver.

Incumbent quarterback Sam Bradford was injured in Sunday's 30-15 loss against the Carolina Panthers, which could prompt a move to sign another passer, depending on his diagnosis. Silver was quick to acknowledge that while the Rams are exploring the idea of bringing in Tebow, he believes a signing would be unlikely.

Bradford was pushed out of bounds during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, landing awkwardly on his knees. He will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Tebow was released by the New England Patriots prior to the start of the 2013 season. There have been several rumors linking him to teams, but nothing has come from these reports. Tebow last played regular season football with the New York Jets in 2012, when he completed six passes for 39 yards.

If signed, the Rams would have two 2010 first-round picks on their roster at quarterback. Bradford was selected with the first pick, while Tebow was taken 25th overall by the Denver Broncos, where he played two seasons before being traded when the Broncos signed Peyton Manning.
