Josh Gordon saving ugly Browns offense in Kansas City

Outside of pair of big receptions from Gordon, the Browns are looking miserable against the Chiefs.

The move to Jason Campbell hasn't exactly sparked an offensive revolution for the Cleveland Browns, who are losing 20-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs at halftime and, outside of a pair of big passing plays, have looked bad with the ball.

Their lone touchdown came late in the second quarter when a flea flicker led to a 39-yard Campbell to Josh Gordon touchdown and another big shot to Gordon put them in position for a field goal just before half. Outside of those two plays, however, the Browns have just 37 offensive yards and only one first down. They've managed to put together an impressive -1-yards on the ground, the lowest halftime rushing total in the NFL in twenty years.

The worst yardage output from a Browns team came in 2004 in a 37-7 loss to the Bills. That day, they managed only 26 offensive yards, thanks in large part to seven sacks that resulted in a loss of 70 cumulative yards.

For his part, Campbell actually hasn’t had a bad game, at least looking at his stat line. He’s gone 9-of-14 for 131 yards and the one touchdown. He’s been plagued by drops from his receiving corps, but hasn’t helped himself with several off-target throws.

Gordon has two receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown.
