Jamaal Charles injury: Chiefs RB tweaks knee, returns to game

The Chiefs running back briefly left Sunday’s game with a knee injury.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles suffered a knee injury against the Cleveland Browns and was initially listed as question to return, according to the AP's Dave Skretta. He returned to the field on the next possession, much to the relief of fans and fantasy owners everywhere.

Charles suffered the injury at some point early in the third quarter of Sunday’s game. He was seen riding a stationary bike on the Chiefs sideline and wearing helmet, so there was always some possibility that he would return even after going down.

Knile Davis filled in at running back during Charles's absence, carrying the ball three times for 13 yards. Charles has 12 carries for 54 yards and three catches for 35 yards Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs are in a surprisingly close battle with the Browns, who have gone on a sudden scoring run to pull to within three points. They built a 20-7 lead before the Browns fired off 10 consecutive points to close the gap.
