Steelers vs. Raiders 2013 final score: Oakland holds on to win, despite mistakes

The Raiders turned it over three times on Sunday, but the Steelers also played sloppy and couldn’t mount a successful comeback in Oakland.

The Steelers were looking for their third straight win on Sunday but the Raiders had other ideas. Despite some sloppy play from Oakland, including two interceptions by Terrelle Pryor and a costly fourth-quarter fumble by Jacoby Ford, the Raiders held on to beat the Steelers, 21-18.

Oakland improved to 3-4 on the season, while Pittsburgh fell to 2-5.

The Steelers' rushing game continues to suffer. Ranked 27th in rushing yards going into the game, the Steelers were even less efficient on Sunday, running for 35 yards on 19 carries as a team. Le'Veon Bell scored a 2-yard touchdown with 1:24 to cut the lead, but the onside kick attempt was unsuccessful and a last-second effort by the Steelers offense fell well short of points.

Fantasy Studs and Duds

Was Pryor a stud or a dud? That may depend on your league’s scoring system. He threw two interceptions but rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown. In most leagues, that might be considered fairly solid.

A definite stud was Darren McFadden, who had 73 rushing yards and two touchdowns. A big dud was Ford, who fumbled twice, lost one, and had one catch for minus-4 yards.

Injury Report

Steelers guard Ramon Foster left with a possible concussion and did not return. Fellow guard David DeCastro left with an ankle injury and his return was questionable. That wasn't the end of injuries on the offensive line, as guard Guy Whimper also left with a knee injury.

Did They Cover?

The Steelers were 3-point favorites, per OddsShark.com, so they clearly did not cover.
