Desmond Bryant injury: Browns DT taken to hospital with ‘shortness of breath’

Desmond Bryant was taken to a hospital Thursday night due to “shortness of breath.” There is no word yet on his status.

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Desmond Bryant left Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Bills and was transported to a hospital with "shortness of breath," according NFL Network sideline reports Alex Flanagan. With the game well into the fourth quarter, it's safe to say that Bryant's working night is over.

There was no word during the game about what triggered Bryant to suddenly experience trouble breathing. The team tweeted that Bryant was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for “precautionary reasons.” He finished the game with two tackles. Bryant had 15 stops heading into Thursday night’s kickoff.

The Browns suffered another significant injury earlier in the game when quarterback Brian Hoyer was forced to leave early in the first quarter due to a right knee injury. Hoyer was hit while sliding by rookie linebacker Kiko Alonso. The Browns currently hold a 3-point lead with under 12 minutes to play in the game.
