Thad Lewis injury: Bills QB misses practice, status still unknown, Doug Marrone says

The status of Bills quarterback Thad Lewis is still unclear for Sunday.

The Bills remain in uncertainty at the quarterback position. Despite not practicing twice this week, Thaddeus Lewis has not been ruled out of starting against the Chiefs on Sunday, according to head coach Doug Marrone (via the team's website). Lewis has been dealing with a rib injury that he suffered in Week 8's loss to the Saints.

More Bills: Buffalo Rumblings

Lewis has played three games in place of official starter E.J. Manuel. The rookie has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of action for four weeks. Lewis has played admirably in relief of Manuel, having completed 60 percent of his passes for 652 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has added 35 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

If Lewis is unable to play on Sunday, either rookie Jeff Tuel or journeyman Matt Flynn will be the starter against the Chiefs. Tuel has played in just one game in his career, and Flynn has played in several with mediocre results. Flynn was cut by the Raiders and signed by the Bills just two weeks ago.
