Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson is expected to play on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, according to a report from the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Colts have used a combination of Richardson and Donald Brown for the running game and along with quarterback Andrew Luck have helped lead the team to a 6-2 record and the lead in the AFC South.
The second-year running back was traded to the Colts after the first two games of the season but has struggled to really get going in Indianapolis. Richardson is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry this season and has not eclipsed more than 60 yards rushing in a game since joining the Colts. For the season, the young running back has 353 yards on 114 carries and two touchdowns.
