Matt Ufford offers you fantasy advice on Riley Cooper, Colin Kaepernick, Bills running backs and more. That loss was embarrassing because the Jaguars were previously winless on the season, though Tennessee kept it close at 29-27. In fairness, the Titans lost quarterback Jake Locker and had to go with Ryan Fitzpatrick for much of the game, but when the Jaguars already have Chad Henne at quarterback (180 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions), it's a hard justification to make.
Trying to explain how Andrew Luck managed to throw three interceptions and how the Colts only managed to rush for 18 yards on the day seems a fruitless endeavor, however. The Colts were simply dominated by the Rams on Sunday.
According to OddsShark, the Titans opened up as 2-point favorites for their showdown on Thursday, but the line quickly moved in favor of Indianapolis throughout the week. Some had the Colts favored by as much as 3 points. It’s likely that the loss to Jacksonville hurt the Titans significantly, and home-field advantage was deemed to not be that big a factor in the end.
The over/under for the matchup sits between 41 and 42.5 points. That total has gone over in four of Indianapolis’ last five games, and in five of Tennessee’s last six, so it might be a smart play at this point.
