Redskins vs. Eagles 2013 final score: Philadelphia resists RGIII comeback, 24-16

Robert Griffin III couldn’t bring his team back in the second half, but he was close.

After a rough first half, Robert Griffin III found his rhythm in the fourth quarter, but the Redskins' comeback fell just short as the Eagles won, 24-16, and effectively killed Washington's push for the playoffs.

Poor blocking stopped Griffin III before he started and it wasn't until the fourth quarter that the offense started moving. The Redskins quarterback was sacked four times and threw for less than 50 yards through the third quarter before pulling his team back. It looked like Griffin III could push an unlikely comeback as he found Darrel Young and Aldrick Robinson on back-to-back deep touchdown passes. Ultimately it was too little too late, as a last-minute interception sealed the win for Philadelphia.

Don't wave a Redskins flag in Shady's face

Nick Foles was sensational in another Eagles win, finishing with 298 yards. He wasn't able to throw for a touchdown, but he did run one in. Foles was calm in the pocket, found his outlets where needed and remains one of the best young quarterbacks in the league who isn't talked about enough. LeSean McCoy had a scary moment in the first half when he went down with a hamstring injury, but he wasn't slowed for long, finishing with 150 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.

Philadelphia has control of the NFC East with the win on Sunday. They hold a half-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys and it's hard to see any defense stopping this offense with Foles at the helm. The stage is set for a dramatic Week 17 game between the two sides.

Fantasy studs and duds

LeSean McCoy was sensational, especially in PPR leagues. He had a great game on the ground, but his receiving game is why he’s one of the league’s top fantasy running backs.

Did they cover?

The Philadelphia Eagles were five-point favorites, according to OddsShark. Their eight-point win means they covered the spread.
