The NFL will begin a formal investigation into Trent Williams's allegations that members of an officiating crew made unprofessional and derogatory remarks during the Washington Redskins' 24-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, according to Albert Breer.
NFL investigates ref’s alleged comments to Trent Williams
The league is looking into Williams’ allegation that a referee cursed at him during the Redskins-Eagles game on Sunday.

When asked about what guidelines governed ref/player interactions, NFL Public Relations spokesman Greg Aiello simply replied, “professional.”
Williams, who plays offensive tackle for the Redskins, claims umpire Roy Ellison called him a “fat a**” during the course of the game. Williams was livid in the postgame locker room, regerring to Ellion as a “garbage a** disrespectful mother f***.”
The league should have plenty of evidence to examine, as Washington guard Kory Lichtensteiger told members of the media Sunday that he was wearing a microphone during the game, and that Ellison's comments would be audible on the recording.
When reporters approached the officials’ bus for comment following the game, referee Walt Coleman slammed a window and refused to answer questions about the incident.
