Jeff Tuel guides Bills to halftime lead over undefeated Chiefs

Upset of the week? Buffalo is leading Kansas City at halftime, 10-3.

The Buffalo Bills are two quarters away from ending the Kansas City Chiefs' unbeaten season. At halftime, the Bills lead the Chiefs, 10-3.

Buffalo turned to Jeff Tuel at quarterback after Thad Lewis was unable to go. The undrafted rookie out of Washington State has been a pleasant surprise, completing 9-of-15 passes for 139 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He gave the Bills a first-quarter lead with a 59-yard strike to Marquise Goodwin. Buffalo drove down to the red zone at the two minute mark, but settled for a field goal to give them a touchdown lead. The Chiefs had a chance to get points before going into the locker room, but Dexter McCluster had a brutal drop in wide open space that would have been a sure touchdown.

The Chiefs got on the board after Tuel's interception, but Buffalo's defense has completely shut down Alex Smith and company. Smith is completing 16-of-22 passes, but they went for just 92 yards and he took two sacks. Jamaal Charles, normally the backbone of the Chiefs offense, has been held to 26 yards on six carries.

The Chiefs have a bye week before a huge showdown with the Denver Broncos in Week 11. So far, it appears that Tuel and company have caught them napping.
