The Lions got a week off after a dramatic last-second win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. Detroit beat Dallas, 31-30, but failed to cover the minus-3 point spread. The Lions move into first place in the division at 5-3, and are now 4-4 against the spread.
The Bears scored a huge divisional win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Playing without Jay Cutler or Lance Briggs, the Bears beat the Packers in Lambeau, 27-20. They were massive 9.5-point underdogs and made some bold gamblers rich by beating that spread. Chicago is now 5-3 in the standings, but just 2-5-1 against the spread. Cutler is tentatively expected to return against Detroit.
