New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley is expected to be active and play on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, according to Nick Underhill of Mass Live.
Stevan Ridley expected to play for Patriots vs. Browns
The Patriots running back will be back in the lineup after being benched for fumbling issues against Denver.
Ridley was effectively benched on Nov. 24 after fumbling against the Denver Broncos, his fourth fumble of the season and third fumble in as many games. He was made inactive for last week's win over the Houston Texans. Just what his role will be on Sunday is unclear, with LeGarrette Blount and Shane Vereen picking up the slack last week and combining for 82 yards on 22 carries against Houston.
The third-year running back enjoyed a breakout season in 2012, running for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns on 290 carries and seemingly taking control of the lead running back position. After fumbling four times and losing two in 2012, however, Ridley’s problems holding onto the ball continued into 2013. Ridley has 576 yards and one touchdown in 10 games this season.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET with coverage on CBS.
