Dolphins vs. Steelers 2013 results: Miami flies North for the winter, wins 34-28

Snowy conditions didn’t hurt the Dolphins, who won on the back of Ryan Tannehill in Pittsburgh.

The snow wasn’t falling like it was in Philly, but the Dolphins and Steelers still needed to manage the conditions in Pittsburgh while battling each other. Both teams played well, but ultimately the Dolphins leaned on their quarterback to handle the Steelers in a 34-28 win.

Antonio Brown was almost able to score on a game-winning return, but stepped out of bounds at the last second -- calling off the score and allowing Miami to leave with the victory.

Ryan Tannehill did everything on Sunday. The second-year quarterback threw three touchdowns and was second on the team in rushing. Daniel Thomas came up big, but Mike Wallace was held in check. It seemed that the effort wouldn't be enough, especially with the defense unable to get enough pressure on Roethlisberger early in the game. Tannehill was able to mitigate the problems on offense, leaning on Charles Clay, who finished with 97 yards receiving.

Neither team ran the ball very well. Ben Roethlisberger showed that he was more familiar with passing in the conditions. He fought through the weather and used his arm strength, finishing with an impressive 235 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception. It helped that Le'Veon Bell was a reliable runner, even if he finished with just 58 yards.

The win ends the Steelers’ playoff hopes after an impressive mid-season surge. Meanwhile the Dolphins move to 7-6, keeping their playoff dreams alive.
