Terrelle Pryor replaces Matt McGloin for Raiders against Jets

Oakland head coach Dennis Allen has quickly pulled his starter and gone back to Pryor for now.

It seemed as though Matt McGloin had begun to take a strong hold on the starting quarterback job for the Oakland Raiders, but he has been replaced by Terrelle Pryor after just two possessions in Week 14 against the New York Jets, according to John Clayton. McGloin was 3-of-4 for 28 yards and a fumble against the Jets, as the Raiders trailed 10-0 in the second quarter.

Pryor came into the game and led Oakland to a field goal, and the Raiders now trail 10-3. After starting the first eight games of the year and then giving way to McGloin, Pryor is 2-of-5 for 20 yards thus far.

Dennis Allen has made several changes at the quarterback position this year, first with Oakland acquiring Matt Flynn and expecting him to start, then Pryor winning a preseason competition, then Pryor getting hurt and making way for Flynn for one start before Flynn was released. McGloin has started the last four games, including this Sunday, but couldn't replicate the success he had in his first start.

The undrafted free agent out of Penn State threw three touchdowns in a win over the Houston Texans, but has thrown just one touchdown and two interceptions since.

Update: McGloin came back into the game shortly after. It appears Allen is content to give both players some time at the position.
