Cullen Jenkins signs 3-year deal with Giants, per reports

The deal includes $3 million guaranteed and a $2 million signing bonus. Jenkins was released by the Eagles after putting up 27 tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble last season.

Jenkins started his career with the Green Bay Packers, where he spent seven seasons and totaled 29 sacks. In 2011, he signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, as part of the vaunted "Dream Team" free agency class. The team never lived up to that hype, and just two years later Jenkins was a cap casualty.

For now, Jenkins is expected to be the replacement for Chris Canty, who was released earlier by the Giants. With the official start of free agency just days away, this is only the first drip of news before the floodgates open on March 12.
