Former Cleveland Browns star Josh Cribbs has narrowed down his options to the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals, according to a tweet from Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Josh Cribbs rumors: Patriots, Cardinals are finalists for Browns’ star
The longtime Cleveland Brown has narrowed down his choices to New England and Arizona, and will not be coming back to the Browns.
Cribbs had said publicly that he wanted to stay with the Browns, but with a new regime taking over, it seemed uncertain how much interest they would have in re-signing a return specialist. While Cribbs’ production has dipped over the past several years, the Browns remained in the top 10 in average return yardage in 2012. The Cardinals and Patriots are both pursuing him for a reason, as both teams ranked either in the middle of the pack or lower in the same statistic.
There’s no timetable at the moment for when Cribbs will make his decision, but there’s no indication that this will become a drawn out process.
