NFL free agency: Packers could bring Greg Jennings back

The longtime Packer wideout could end up staying in Green Bay, despite it appearing that he was a lock to play elsewhere just a few weeks ago.

After seeming like a foregone conclusion that he would be elsewhere in 2013, wide receiver Greg Jennings may actually be returning to the Green Bay Packers. Jennings called into ESPN's NFL Live on Tuesday, and was hesitant to discuss whether he was being heavily courted by other teams. The consensus seems to be that the market is slower than Jennings was hoping for, which brings the Packers back into the picture.

Jennings was rumored to be looking for deal that paid around $12 million a year, but it seems like he's unlikely to get a deal of that size. He said that he was open to joining the Miami Dolphins, who are coached by former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, but their blockbuster signing of Mike Wallace has precluded that option.

It makes sense that the Packers would be interested in Jennings if the price tag was more reasonable. They'll be losing Donald Driver to retirement, and if Jennings were to leave town as well, it would leave their wide receiver corps dangerously thin behind Randall Cobb and James Jones.
