NFL free agency: Jasper Brinkley will visit Giants on Wednesday
The New York Giants are in the market for a new middle linebacker, and will be talking to Jasper Brinkley on Wednesday.
With the Giants likely to lose Chase Blackburn to another team, Brinkley would fit in nicely as a replacement at middle linebacker. The Giants reportedly wanted to bring Blackburn back, but were not able to come to an agreement with him before the start of free agency on Tuesday.
Brinkley spent the first four years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. However, 2012 was the first season in which he got a chance to start, and he responded by accumulating 62 tackles and three forced fumbles while starting 15 games. Brinkley was a fifth-round pick by the Vikings in 2009, and he played his college ball at South Carolina.
