Jake Long expected to leave St. Louis without deal

The Rams would like to add Jake Long to their offensive line, but they may be losing the battle for his services.

Free agent offensive tackle Jake Long visited with the St. Louis Rams this week, but he'll most likely leave town Friday without a contract agreement with the team, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Long reportedly is receiving interest from several different teams.

Long, a five-year NFL veteran, has spent his entire career up to this point with the Miami Dolphins, and he may still end up re-signing with the team. He has made 74 starts as a pro, earning four trips to the Pro Bowl in the process. His 2012 season ended in early December after he tore a triceps muscle; that injury and another the year prior forced him to miss a total of six regular season games over the past two seasons.
