No Emmanuel Sanders decision yet from Patriots

The Patriots have yet to make a decision on Emmanuel Sanders, contradicting a report on Saturday saying they’d signed him to an offer sheet.

The New England Patriots have yet to make a decision on signing wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This contradicts a report from Saturday, which stated that the Patriots had already signed Sanders to an offer sheet.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have given Sanders a third-round valuation, meaning the Patriots would have to give up a third-round pick in the upcoming draft as compensation for him. Sanders is a three-year NFL veteran, and had his best season as a pro in 2012, catching 44 passes for 626 yards and a touchdown.

Sanders has played primarily in the slot with the Steelers, but has the skillset and experience to play on the outside as well. If he does come to New England, he will be part of a group effort to replace Wes Welker, who left to join the Denver Broncos. The Patriots have already signed Danny Amendola and Donald Jones.
