Despite seeing his roster spot filled by Wes Welker, free agent wide receiver Brandon Stokley wants to return to the NFL for a 15th season in 2013, he told ESPN 102.3 in Denver.
Brandon Stokley wants to play in 2013
The veteran slot receiver doesn’t see a spot for him with the Broncos.

Stokley said, "it doesn't look good for me" with Welker joining the Denver Broncos and doesn't anticipate being with the team in 2013. But he wants to keep playing:
“Yeah, I think so. It’s always harder when you’re my age. I’ve got two boys and it’s harder to be away from them, but I think so. I think I still want to play and I still love the game, love to compete and I still think I’ve got something to offer a team.”
At 36 last season, Stokley had one of his best seasons in his career. With Peyton Manning throwing him the ball once again, Stokley caught 45 passes for 544 yards and five touchdowns.
According to a poll at Mile High Report, 89 percent of Broncos fans (nearly 500 votes) wanted the Broncos to keep Stokley.
Despite playing 14 seasons in the league, Stokley has just two seasons under his belt with more than 45 catches and 544 yards. His best season, by far, was 2004 with the Indianapolis Colts and Manning. Stokley caught 68 passes for 1,077 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Stokley said he plans to stay in shape and “see if anything pops open and comes available.”
